Who We Are
Owner: Roy Hyde
Raised in Libby, Montana, Roy Hyde has always been dedicated to serving his community and protecting the lands he calls home. After graduating high school, Roy joined the Montana Army National Guard, where he proudly served his state and country—including a deployment to the Middle East in 2022.

When not on military duty, Roy worked with the U.S. Forest Service as a Wildland Firefighter, gaining firsthand experience in forest management and wildfire response. Following an injury sustained during deployment and subsequent shoulder surgery, Roy took time to reflect on his career path and how he could continue serving his community in a meaningful way.

That reflection led to the creation of Bobtail Enterprise—a company built on the mission to reduce wildfire risk and protect the people, property, and natural resources of the Libby and greater Kootenai region.

Today, Roy remains deeply involved in his community. In addition to running Bobtail Enterprise, he serves as a volunteer EMT with the Libby Volunteer Ambulance, continuing his lifelong commitment to service and community safety.
